Hi there, I’m Kerry : photographer, storyteller, and professional moment-catcher
My journey into photography began underwater - where I learned to watch, to wait and to find beauty in the quiet spaces.
There’s a kind of stillness beneath the surface that taught me how to see - not just with my eyes, but with my heart. I started by capturing light on coral, the subtle movements of marine life, the hush of a world few ever notice.
But over time, I discovered that what truly lights me up is people - their stories, their connections, their everyday magic.
I'm endlessly curious about what makes us who we are - how we love, work, celebrate, and grow. That curiosity has become the heartbeat of my work.
Today, I specialise in storytelling photography - capturing the soul of small businesses, the spirit of personal milestones and the joy of real moments.
Whether it’s a quiet detail at a wedding, the hands of a maker in their workshop, or a fleeting smile between loved ones, I’m drawn to the moments that feel true.
I’m self-taught, guided by instinct, emotion and a deep desire to create something meaningful.
Photography for me, is not just an image - it’s a way of honouring the present, reflecting the past and celebrating the beauty of being alive.
If you value authenticity, connection and images that tell a story, I’d love to work with you.
Why 38th Parallel?
The name comes from home - Melbourne, Australia - right near the 38th Parallel South. It’s where my love for photography first took root, and where this creative journey really began.
I learned to dive here, and that’s when things shifted. Beneath the surface, I discovered a quieter world full of colour, movement and wonder - and I started capturing it, one frame at a time. My first business? Selling underwater prints that told the stories of that hidden world.
But as time passed, I felt the pull to come back up for air - to connect with people, to tell their stories too. From underwater landscapes to real-life celebrations, family chaos, business dreams and everything in between, my work grew alongside the community around me.
And that’s what 38th Parallel is about now : capturing the real, raw, beautiful moments - above or below the surface.
